Meet Dr. Scott Gould

Meet Dr GouldDr. Gould attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Dentistry, receiving a Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 2001,  after which, he was awarded a position into the Graduate Periodontology Program at UNC-Chapel Hill.  Following the completion of a three year residency program, he graduated from the Department of Periodontology with a Master’s in Oral Biology, a Certificate in Clinical Periodontics, and hospital based training in intravenous sedation.  Dr. Gould maintains his relationship with UNC where he serves as an Adjunct Faculty member to the Department of Periodontology.

Dr. Gould was born and raised in Wake Forest, NC.  He attended North Carolina State University where he was awarded membership into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society (www.pbk.org), graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in 1997.

Shortly after commencing private practice with a premier periodontal and dental implant practice in eastern North Carolina, Dr. Gould achieved Board Certification by the American Board of Periodontology and is now recognized as a Diplomate.  He maintains his commitment to the profession by attending some of the most well respected continuing education programs in the country.  His focus is centered on interdisciplinary care which involves working with dentists, and other dental specialists, to deliver the highest possible level of dentistry.

Early in 2008, Dr. Gould, his lovely wife, Erin, and his children, Rhodes and Nash, moved to Wilmington, NC. Shortly thereafter, he opened Cape Fear Periodontics and Dental Implants. In 2011, Dr. Gould and his wife were blessed with another girl, Gray. Dr. Gould’s commitment to his patients, his team members, and to the profession is to provide only the most exceptional periodontal and dental implant care.

His professional affiliations include membership in the American Academy of Periodontology, the International Team for Implantology, the North Carolina Society of Periodontists, the American Academy of Osseointegration, the North Carolina Dental Society, the American Dental Association, the Cape Fear Dental Study Club, and the Wilmington Spear Study Club (club leader).

Meet Dr. Andrei Hatara

Dr. Hatara attended the University of Florida and received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Business Administration in 2009.  He later completed Post Baccalaureate Studies at Florida Atlantic University  in 2012.  Dr. Hatara received a Doctorate in Dental Surgery from New York University in 2017, followed by a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry from East Carolina University in 2018.   He went on to practice general dentistry in Wilmington, NC from 2018 – 2020.

Dr. Hatara was awarded a position in the Graduate Periodontal program at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  In 2023, after completing a three-year residency, he graduated from the Department of Periodontology with a Certificate in Periodontics and Implant Surgery and hospital based training in intra-venous sedation.

Dr. Hatara is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, and a member of the Cape Fear Dental Study Club.

Dr. Hatara joined Cape Fear Periodontics & Dental Implants in 2023.  He enjoys kiteboarding, surfing, foiling, running, and traveling.
